Kingston is one of Canada's oldest cities, established in 1673.

Location: Kingston has a population of 117,000 and is strategically located where Lake Ontario
empties into the St Lawrence River.. The Rideau Canal, built in the early 1800's, connects Kingston to
the nations capital, Ottawa, and this picturesque waterway was named by UNESCO to be of world interest in 2007. Kingston is also centrally located between Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa on the 401 axis and minutes from access to Northern New York State.

In the area: The city is home to 17 museums, 4 teaching hospitals, 15 golf courses, world-class water sports, Canadian Forces Base Kingston and nationally important educational institutions such as Queen's University, St. Lawrence College and the Royal Military College of Canada.

The mix of history, location and size make Kingston an ideal home for you . Enjoy the art galleries, concerts at the Grand Theatre,the Gananoque Play House and the KROCK Center.

Tourism: The Kingston area hosts about 1 million tourists a year. They flock to area historic sites, museums, restaurants, and pubs.
